The last time my Beagle Bailey got out, instead of running across our street into the woods, he picked up a scent and followed it to the main road. Because I’m so used to him going into the woods, I started wandering through the woods. Twenty minutes or so later I received a call from PetLink letting me know that Bailey was found and at a local vet office and to please call them. I did, only to find out that he had been hit by a car. The person who hit him brought him directly to the vet’s office. Luckily, he only had a broken leg and is doing fine. He was identified by the PetLink chip in his neck. Everyone in the vet’s office, as well as me, said “Thank God for microchips”. I also thanked the person who hit him for taking him directly to the vet, because people just don’t do things like that. He said because Bailey looked healthy and clean, he knew he was somebody’s pet. We rescued him from an animal shelter here in California. We are so glad we did.
