Together Again: Yogi’s Vacation

My husband and I were out of town for my son’s wrestling tournament. We arranged for someone to let our dog, Yogi, out while we were gone. They let him out around lunchtime, but he ran away and when called his name, he decided not to listen. They tried to catch him, but couldn’t keep up and lost track of him. Our dog can’t wear a collar (because of past throat surgery, our vet has recommended nothing on his neck because he can’t have anything tugging or pulling on his throat) so he had no visual ID on him when he disappeared.
Six of our close neighbors were out looking for Yogi, with no luck, while we were sitting helplessly out of town, wondering what would happen. Luckily, a kind person about 5 to 6 blocks away from us found Yogi (ironically in the opposite direction that he was last seen running/wandering) and took him to the Humane Society. The Humane Society scanned him for a microchip and through PetLink was able to call us and let us know they had received him, and reunite him with us. Thank you PetLink!
