Together Again: Nightmare Averted
I have this gate in the very back of the yard. It’s hard to see and I always keep it bolted. Then I had workmen come to put a walkway leading up to it. I didn’t anticipate they would unbolt the gate and it was a windy day. Later my two other dogs came in but Jasmine didn’t come in with them. Jasmine’s a Pointer so when she didn’t respond to my whistle and I saw the gate wide open it confirmed my worst nightmare, especially as I live on a main street. I was thinking “Oh my God!” when I ran inside to get a leash to go look for her and heard the tail end of a message from a rescue shelter. The shelter was calling from Salem, Mass which is 20 mins away from where Jasmine and I live in Lynn. I was so surprised that in the short amount of time she was missing she could have got that far away. I found out that she had been picked up by a neighbor who knows my dogs but didn’t know I had got Jasmine, a rescue dog. She’d driven to the nearest shelter in Salem to have her scanned for a microchip. It was a Sunday and by bringing her back to the house she saved me a heart-wrenching wait until Monday.
I am so excited to have Jasmine back. She’s an exuberant, sweet, sweet dog and you, PetLink are so excellent!
